Event Info
The UAA Department of Music is delighted to present an extraordinary concert showcasing vocal works by Johann Sebastian Bach. This event will feature the Early Music Ensemble, directed by John Lutterman; the UAA Opera Ensemble, under the direction of Mari Hahn; and the University Singers, led by Grant Cochran. The performance will encompass an array of pieces, ranging from the sublime motet "Komm, Jesu, Komm" to the ridiculously comical "Coffee Cantata," promising to engage and enchant the audience. Additionally, "Tilge Höchster, meine Sünden," Bach’s paraphrase of the famous "Stabat Mater" by Pergolesi, will highlight the talents of soloists Mari Hahn and Emily Riedel. The evening will also feature the "Actus Tragicus" Cantata for chorus and soloists. The ensemble will perform using period instruments, guided by the expert direction of John Lutterman.
