Event Info
Misery is a gripping psychological thriller based on Stephen King’s chilling novel. The play follows acclaimed romance novelist Paul Sheldon, who is rescued from a near-fatal car crash by his self-proclaimed “number one fan,” Annie Wilkes. But what begins as an act of kindness quickly turns sinister.
While Paul recovers in Annie’s isolated home, she reads his latest manuscript and becomes enraged upon discovering he has killed off her beloved character, Misery Chastain. Annie forces Paul to write a new Misery novel, and he quickly realizes Annie has no intention of letting him go anywhere. The irate Annie has Paul writing as if his life depends on it, and it does.
