Wild Shore New Music
.

Event Info

Founded in 2013 by Alaskan musicians Conrad Winslow, Andie Tanning, and Katie Cox, Wild Shore New Music is one of Alaska’s few organizations dedicated to contemporary chamber music. Wild Shore brings together visiting artists and Alaskans through adventurous programs that reflect the region’s cultural and natural landscape.

For its 12th season, Wild Shore New Music honors acclaimed composer Eve Beglarian, whose explores themes of place, identity, and belonging. Beglarian has been praised for her sensuality and experimentation. At the center of the 2025 season is a new commission developed during Beglarian’s May residency at Bunnell Street Arts Center in Homer, Alaska, and her travels through the interior up to Fairbanks inspired by the region’s landscape and cultural richness.

This season’s performers include Wild Shore’s founding musicians: Katie Cox, Andie Tanning, and Conrad Winslow, joined by Dr. Miriam English Ward, James Moore, Mariel Roberts, and Eve Beglarian herself. The program will also feature earlier works by Beglarian, including Peggy in the Twilight and a new interpretation of Wolf Chaser, which incorporates a traditional Inupiaq whale baleen tool gifted to the composer.
