Candide (1999 Version) by Leonard Bernstein, with book adapted from Voltaire by Hugh Wheeler, and lyrics by John Caird. The UAA Opera Ensemble performs this award-winning musical/operetta featuring the brightest voices of the Voice Division. Based on Voltaire's novella, the fast-moving and comical plots entertains, and Berstein's score amazes audiences with songs like "Glitter and be Gay" and "Make Our Garden Grow".
Performed by the UAA Opera Ensemble and the University Singers. Presented through special arrangement with Music Theater International. All authorized performance materials supplied by MTI.
